Dear, Mom -
Today I had a list of things to get done and think I accomplished not near what I would have liked. I would say tomorrow is another day with more time except for the fact that the stuff I need to do is outside. And tonight, as I type, it is pouring down rain. Well, what are ya gonna do?
Here are some beautiful pansies that Birgit got from Paula for their garden. I know you like pansies like I do. So pretty. I also saw another orchid that is delicate with really nice colors. I love how it is a triad of leaves and color.

Then I saw these precious little white bells. When I edited the picture I noticed a bug photo bombed the picture by camouflaging itself perfectly until a closer look. It was kind of funny. I don't think you will be able to see him. Can you?
Today, I also worked with Birgit. In order to get her out of the house for a while, I took her on a long drive out to Sauvie Island, down the same road I took Bob on Thursday. We took it until it became a Wildlife Refuge then turned around. We did that twice on two different road. It was really lovely, though, because it is so lush and green now. There are lots of birds of all shapes and sized. I had a little cotton tail bunny run to the side of the car today. That tail was as stark white as could be. We saw sheep, cows, lots of fisher people because it is salmon and steelhead season, I believe. Anyway, we drove all over the island. I would love for us to live out there. You would love the quiet and the farms. It would seem very familiar. If we could afford to move out there, I definitely would.
Other than that, I managed to patch my shoes where the toe is rubbing through. I've had cheap shoes last a lot longer than these not cheap trainers. I am disappointed. At least I am thrifty and I managed cut out an iron patch for clothes and got it to stick really well. It blends well into the shoe, too.
I am getting ready to start rototilling my yard to make a bonafide garden plot. I want to take a shot at growing some food and being a bit more self-sufficient. I have my starts for lettuce, tomatillos, two varities of tomatoes, basil, and wildflowers. I need more food. I'd love to try potatoes, carrots, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. I gotta get the yard tilled before I can do all that anyway. Sounds like a lot of work!
Alright, Mom. I love you very very much. Pretend I am giving you a BIG HUG and a BIT SMOOCH. We'll hopefully talk soon. All My Love,
Sal
