09 June, 2020 - A Walk in the Park & A Drive on the Outskirts of the City
Dear, Mom -

Oh, my goodness. I got three things done today after I talked to you on the video chat that I really needed to get done. I actually feel a bit lighter getting them all done. I just needed to buckle down, make a phone call, print some things, fill some other things in, write an email, mail an invoice, etc. Basically, I needed to renew my student loan deferment for the time being, submit my voucher/ time sheet to the County to get paid, and send out an invoice to one of my clients since I haven't been paid for almost a month. Those things needed doing, I got them done, and now I can do things I enjoy tomorrow without that in the back of my mind.
It was so nice to talk to you and see you on the video chat today. Things seemed a bit hectic there, but it was still nice to get to chat for bit. I loved that you were out doing a puzzle and sharing your time with your roomie Tam. I can't believe how long your hair is getting! It looks really nice at that length. If you want it trimmed, though, I will ask Aleynah to see if there is anyone coming in to cut hair. Bob and Philippe both need haircuts, too. I think I may watch some videos on how to trim hair and see if I would be confident enough to cut Bob's hair. Philippe's hair is curly so I think I would be too nervous to cut his. We will see what happens. I may watch some videos tomorrow and see if I should give it a try.
I took Bob for a walk in the park today. We usually always go walking as part of Bob's daily exercise routine. It was sprinkling out, so the canopy of the trees was nice to be able to walk under. We walked quite a bit then went for a drive just to stay out for a bit longer. I took him for a cappuccino and croissant (his favorites that his hasn't had in a long time) through a Starbuck's drive-thru so that he wouldn't have to make contact with anyone. After that, we drove around Jantzen Beach a bit just to see what was here and there on the island. I hadn't ever been east on the island before, so it was interesting to drive around and see all the house boats and yachts and weird, gated communities. It is always interesting to discover a new place when you've lived somewhere for 30 years. After that, we drove back to the house and had some lunch with Bob's son, Philippe.

Here is a goofy picture of me in my new tie-dye shirt. It is so pretty. I bought it with the main hue of green because the green in my eyes really shows when I wear shades of green. A gal who owns a small business in Pennsylvania hand made it for me. I like to support small businesses, especially those that are selling crafts they have done themselves. I had been wanting a new tie-dye for a long while, but just never got around to buying one. I thought I would treat myself, but at the same time wanted to support a young, woman entrepreneur like myself. With so many small businesses going out of business right now, I'm trying to do my part by buying local and, if something needs to be shipped, from a small business that needs the support. So, I feel good about my purchase...and it's so pretty!

Here is a picture from today of Bob and I on our walk. Bob used to be your housemate when you lived at The Kenton House. He remembers you fondly and always asks if you are well. He is such a gentleman and kind soul. I have enjoyed working for him for the last 2 years.

This is one of they hydrangea bushes from out in front of the house. I love how it has different stages of color evolving. They are such unique and gorgeous blooms. They will always remind me of Grandma and Aunt Grace. They had such lovely, mature bushes in front of their front windows.
There was just something about those flowers that I always loved. Aunt Grace's Tiger Lilies, too.
It's another very late night. Fortunately, I don't have to get up early tomorrow. Elsa the dog will want breakfast early, but she is okay to sleep after breakfast for another hour or so. Thank goodness!
I will talk to you again very soon, mom. I love you miss you love you miss you repeat repeat. xo Sal
