12 June, 2020 - A Regular Day & The Unipiper Rolls Through

Dear, Mom -

Today was just a regular day, Mom. I didn't have much happen that was unique or that interesting.
Except for the Unipiper came through or neighborhood on his unicycle playing his bagpipes that fire would shoot out of occasionally. I guess someone had hired him for their baby shower. He plays some contemporary tunes and some traditional Scottish pipe tunes. He is a local artist that has a non-profit called "Keep Portland Weird". I guess by day he programs computers then after work he is off on his unicycle all over town playing tunes and making people smile. You have to admit it isn't something you see everyday. He is very gracious, too. He rides around in different costumes for different things. Today he had on a Darth Vader top and helmet, but he always wears a kilt. It's rare for him not to wear it. When he started down our neighborhood road blaring his pipes, everyone started coming out of their houses, people who were walking their dogs stopped, and lots of people were filming and taking pictures. It was just a fun 15 minutes or so. Here is a picture of what he looks like when he isn't in costume.
I've never written a blog entry this short before, Mom, and I do apologize for not writing more. It is super late, or really early in the morning. I'm am very tired. I'm trying hard to type this last, most important part: "I love you. I miss you. I promise to see you soon! Big hug and big kiss!!! Your Gal, Sal
