20 June, 2020 - A Stiff Neck & Thinking of You!
Dear, Mom -
This will be another short letter to you tonight. I have a stiff neck and cannot wait to lay down and go to bed. I didn't get up to much today except for running around town trying to get most of my errands done. I picked a couple of pints of raspberries for Paula so she could sell them at her store. I told her I would pick them for her since she is so busy and tired when she gets home. I picked a couple tonight, but then we decided since it was wet out that we would wait for the berries to dry out and pick them on Tuesday instead for the Wednesday morning crowd. Paula makes her sandwich shop like a little store that local people can pick up some organic groceries as well as their sandwich orders.
This is a picture of my favorite sandwich that I eat almost every Thursday. It's a go-to for lunch for Bob's son Philippe. Plus we love to support my neighbor Paula and keep her business running during hard, economic times. Really delicious sandwiches!
Since tomorrow is Father's Day, in memory of dad I bought a shirt that features the USS Pine Island. That was the ship he was on when he was stationed overseas in the Korean War. I wanted to have something to remember him by on a more frequent basis. I miss Dad a lot. This is a picture of the shirt I got:
I figure when people ask me about my shirt, I can tell them about Dad. I am proud of him like I am very proud of you, Mom.
I love you very much, Mom. I miss you all the time. I am looking forward to seeing you. I think you may do a video chat with Nancy and Rob sometime soon, too. That will be great! She is done with school now so she is not as busy as she was. She has officially retired from teaching from what I can tell. It became too stressful trying to teach classes over the internet. Since she teaches ceramics, music, and drama, it isn't something that really translates easily online as it does in person. Especially, ceramics. So, I think she is just going to concentrate on selling her ceramics online for now. She deserves to do art. Someday I hope I can do it, too. Maybe she and I can pair up and sell our wares together.
Have a super day. I will talk to you soon. All My Love to You! --- Sally Ann
