03 July, 2020 - Getting Prepped for Fireworks & A Long Weekend
Dear, Mom -
Just a reminder: "I LOVE MY MOM" π
I am writing you fairly early in the evening as I am going to be occupied with the puppy as soon as the light starts to dim outside. I took Elsa for her walk right after her dinner at 4:30. I am hoping she will go potty again before it gets too late, or she will end up having to hold it until the wee hours of the morning. Elsa is so sensitive, I'm afraid this is going to be a bit of a trying weekend. That is why I am going to take her somewhere tomorrow where she can act like a normal dog and forget about the fireworks that will undoubtedly be going off all over out neighborhood. Sorry it this is a boring storyline, but it's all I have for the time being. Keeping her comforted over the next three days is going to be my primary job. Holly has to work until 3:30 tomorrow, so it is up to me to be the primary caregiver to the dog. Holly also has no interest in going camping, so I don't know if she will join me tomorrow evening while I take Elsa out of the city to explore. Here is a picture of the little cave I have made for her under my desk. There is a fan that blows into it, so she doesn't get warm.
I will seal up the front with another blanket just to make her feel more secure. Most likely, she will pace quite a bit before she settles down in there. I will give her some natural serum to help her anxiety. If that doesn't work, then I will have to give her tranquilizers to help her sleep through some of it. They generally don't tend to work very well on her is the problem.
I am going to say 'so long' for now. I may write more tonight at some point. For the most part, though, I need to finish figuring out how to seal up the outside of her little sanctuary.
Here are some more flowers to look at until I can find you some more interesting pictures tomorrow. I have a feeling I will go to a river or forested area tomorrow. A place with the least likely possibility of fireworks being shot off.
