08 August, 2020 - Seeing an Old Friend & Dreaming of Moving to the Country
Dear, Mom -
Hello! How is your weekend so far? Have you been keeping busy with activities and chatting with your friends? I saw one of my clients today that I haven’t seen since February 12th! It’s almost been 6 months! I’m sure you have heard me talk about him because he is the client that I have had for the longest. His name is Gale.

This isn’t a very good picture, but it’s me and Gale today.
It was really nice to see him. I know it made him feel good since it has been so long. His health is not very good, so I am going to start working with him again and take him to some needed appointments. He has been in isolation so long with only contact with his son. I believe being alone for so long is starting to wear on him. His overall constitution was low. He had lost the glimmer in his eyes and tended to look like he was carrying a lot of sadness around. Never fear! Sally to the rescue! I am going to make sure he has some things to look forward to. I am going to get him to the doctor (neurologist) to have a check up and also take him to have a pedicure, which we used to do every 6 weeks. I think he is looking forward to me being around for a few hours a week. My goal is to put some light back in his eyes and laughter in his heart! He is a dear soul and I have really missed our friendship. In the picture above, I pulled my mask down just long enough to take a quick picture with him. I am hoping the next picture I take will look like we just had a lot of fun!
Tomorrow is Holly’s birthday. I am making her her Aunt Mary Kay’s chocolate sheet cake with homemade frosting. It was her wish. Usually she wants pound cake, but this will be a nice change for her. Paula, our neighbor, told us to come to her restaurant for a free breakfast take out. She is Birgit’s daughter from next door. So, breakfast will be taken care of tomorrow and I know it will be super yummy!
Speaking of Paula, she wants to move to a house on Sauvie’s Island. The house will need lots of remodeling, but will be on three, gorgeous acres. She talked about having Holly and I move out there with her and Birgit. That way, I could be with Birgit more often while Paula is at work. Holly would be able to build a recording studio, and maybe I could finally have a place of my own to do art and podcasting. It sounds like a dream. Paula really wants to pursue it, but the property would be about $750,000 with at least another $125,000 worth of renovations. I was trying to find a picture to include from the internet, but I can’t find a listing anywhere. It makes me wonder if it sold over the last couple of days. Holly, Elsa the dog, and I would move out there in a heart beat. We would just combine sell our houses together and get the most we could. But alas, this really all is just a dream, but, oh, it would be amazing!!!
Not much else is going on, so I will leave you with some pictures from Paula’s garden. Good flower pictures are getting harder and harder to find as we head into late summer. I have a few, though, so please enjoy! I love you and miss you, Momma. Please take care and know that I think of you often. Picture me giving you a big, big hug and a smooch! And I will come to do it in person as soon as I possibly can!
❤️✨All My Love, —- Sally✨❤️
