10 August, 2020 - Evening Events & Pulling Things
Dear, Mom -
Good late evening to you, Mom! I am writing this rather late as it has been a whirlwind of an evening. Everything was pretty good up until 7 pm. Holly had not been feeling very well today and took the day off so she wouldn't have to be on the phone while having a headache and just not feeling quite right. Well, she started feeling worse and pretty soon we were in the bathroom because she vomited. She doesn't have a fever or anything else to set off alarm bells. She thinks on top of the headache, she made have had some bad cream in her tea. She said she remembered that it smelled a bit off. I don't know. I just think with all the stress we are experiencing (we, meaning all of us in this stressful time), she hasn't been eating consistently well and it all kind of came to a head today. She is feeling a bit better now, but still doesn't feel great.
After I got the bathroom cleaned up, I needed to take poor Elsa the dog for a walk. I had to hose off the rug and get some laundry going first. I put off dinner, grabbed Elsa's halter and leash and took off for about a half an hour (not a very long walk for Elsa). When we got back, Holly was in bed reading with the fan blowing on her. I went to change out the laundry and <BAM> I pulled my back again. Just slightly, I can still walk around, but the literal pain in my butt is sharp and not at all appreciated by me. I'm going to finish this up so I can do some yoga and stretching. I need to get up and work in the morning with Bob, so I need to be proactive.
The only other thing I did today was went into the Scappoose Goodwill briefly to buy a couple pair of shorts for Holly and I. Mine were starting to get thin. I was only in there for about 20 minutes. I wore 2 face masks and a pair of disposable gloves and stayed far away from everyone. There weren't very many people there since it was an early, Monday afternoon. I was thankful for that.
After that, I got to talk to a charming lady on the video chat...YOU!...and was indeed very happy about that. You looked very nice today and we had a lovely conversation.
I must apologize as I did not take one single solitary picture today. That must be a record. I rarely go a day without taking pictures. I am usually on the lookout for things to post for you, but today I was out and about so little for pleasure with Elsa that it passed me by. By the time I took her for her evening walk, it was late and the pictures would have been too dark. I will try to make up for it tomorrow if my back is up to it. Oh, and to top it all off, my glasses broke in half tonight. I have glued them back together 5 times and I'm just not going to bother tonight. I just need to go get a new pair. Ugh. Typing on my desktop computer is fine because I use my old reading glasses anyway.
I will end the letter with a joke:
Hahahaha. That's a good one, eh? I love a good Dad joke. Alright, Mom. You know I love you bunches and oodles. You are a very important part of my heart. I'm giving you a big hug and a big kiss. Try not to cause to much trouble! MWAH ---- Your Favorite Kid, Sal*💝
