04 October, 2020 - Home Again & Tired

 Dear, Mom -

Greetings! I am back home from my short stint camping at Camp Wilkerson. Kim and I had a lovely time, but of course I made the mistake of eating one too many peanut butter M&Ms. It gave me a sour stomach, but Kim’s morning hash was helpful. I guess I had a junk food hangover instead of an alcohol related hangover. We slept in a bit this morning. It was hard because there was a family with three little girls that just loved to run around yelling at each other while playing. There were also boys running around with their do yelling at each other and a dog up in a whole other area that kept barking. I don’t mind. Kids will be kids and dogs will be dogs. I just put my ear buds in and went back to sleep on and off until about 9:30. I cannot even tell you the last time I slept in that late.

I got the things in the tent together while Kim made her coffee and started on the morning’s breakfast. We had another round of hash browns and coffee and the stinker gray jay birds kept trying to steal food from everyone’s campsite tables.

We saw this amazing camp stove with AN OVEN up at the horse camp!
I think I may need to get one of these some day when I have a camper to put it in. Pizza while camping?
Yes, please!!! Or biscuits, or a cake, or ?!?! The sky is the limit.

I loaded up the car while Kim got the breakfast put into bowls. It was a pretty simple pack since we had only come for a couple of nights.

We left around 12:30 or so. We made it home around 2. It really is nice having such a nice campground so close to us. I’m sure we will go there again sometime in the spring. I think it will be too cold to think about going any more this year. If we had an actual camper to stay in that would allow us to control the inside temperature a bit more, but in a tent...you get what you get. Cold! It wasn’t very cold the last two nights, so I wasn’t bothered by that, but I know the weather is starting to change and I doubt I’ll head out again until next spring. Maybe a hotel somewhere in a town on the coast will be the next calling. We’ll see.

I love you, Mom. I will talk to you very soon. I have missed you. I will try to come drop off your new slippers and flannel sheets sometime this week. Have a great rest of the day and tell all your friends hello from me, your daughter, Sally!
