08 June, 2020 - An Uneventful Day & RAIN!
Dear, Mom -

I am very sorry that I did not get to talk to you over the weekend or today. It seems like every time I would remember it wouldn't be a good time, so I ended up missing my chances. Today, I helped my neighbor go out to Costco and choose a new television and router for her internet. Of course, nothing can be easy, so her old modem didn't work with the new router, so she had to go to get a new modem...and they were sold out. She gave up until next Saturday when a gentleman from Comcast is going to come deliver her a new modem. Hopefully, they will set everything up, too. That way I don't have to stress to get it done. I honestly don't really understand the 'hooking it up' part, but I think I could figure it out. It would just take me a long time. If Comcast can do it instead of me and do it right the first time; that will be amazing. That is why I missed calling you today. Maybe after work tomorrow we can talk. I should be done around 2:30. I'll try to get a video chat to you.

Here are some close ups of some flowers from the neighborhood. A Pacific ninebark, Yellow yarrow, and a purple-leaved elderberry. I just have this thing with flower photography. I love to frame things a certain way and concentrate on elements of the flowers that you don't usually see when you are just walking by. I guess that is why I really like doing super close-ups. Like this:
This is one of the peonies that Paula grows. It's so fluffy.
A gorgeous pansy. One of our favorites!
I guess the weather is not supposed to be very warm this week. I was looking forward to some sunshine. I didn't get a chance to mow the yard before the rains came so the yard is going to get pretty long. What can you do? Wait for the sun, I suppose. It will be good for the garden, though. Even the really hard rains seemed to perk up the plants and they seemed to be gaining growth. I have to remember that whole patience thing. I keep pulling up the little grass starts that keep coming back in my flower beds. The wild flowers I planted are starting to pop up along the front sidewalk. I am excited about that. I hope the passerby dogs don't trample them, but if they do, there are a lot and they won't all get squished.
This letter was not very informative. I am sorry about that. My day was pretty dull with not a lot to report. Maybe tomorrow will inspire a better story for me to tell you. The main thing I always want to tell you everyday is that, "I love you, I miss you, and I cannot wait for the day I get to give you a big hug and smooch in person." Those are the important things that I want you to know. Even if I just wrote that one line, it would be just as important - even without flowers and silly pictures.
I will hopefully see you over the video chat tomorrow or Wednesday. All my love to you --- Sally
