06 July, 2020 - Writer’s Block & Poor Little Elsa
Dear, Mom -
Hello. Well, we here at the Dodd household are still recovering from the big weekend of eternal loud noises and scary things. That is how our poor Elsa the dog feels. She is still barricaded in the bathroom tonight after hearing MORE fireworks. People in our neighborhood don’t stop on the 4th. They start at the end of June and go well into July. So poor Elsa is always terrified someone is going to make a loud, scary noise when she goes outside. Especially after the sun goes down.
Elsa the Sou Chef Helping with Dinner
As I was preparing dinner tonight, she kept trying to secure a space between me and the cupboards. She is spooked easily. When she first came to live with us, the toaster would really scare her whenever the toast popped up. It actually still does catch her off guard to this day, but she is getting better.
I have to get up for work at 7:30 in the morning. Once again it is 11:30 and I’m just getting around to you letter. I really need to sit down and make a schedule for each day. I need better guidelines. I am not getting to bed early like I used to and it is taking a toll on me in the morning. If I make an oath to you that I am going to make a schedule, then I have to keep it!
“I, Sally, your loving daughter, do hereby promise to follow through
With making a schedule that will organize and adjust my time
More accordingly so I get adequate sleep and write you only
The best letters.”
I will be working with both Bob and Birgit tomorrow. I will hopefully have a better day’s story to tell you and fun pictures. I love taking the flower pictures because there are so many around the neighborhood that are blooming. I really only get out with Elsa on our walks, but sometimes Bob and I walk around the block if he is feeling up to it. We usually find something interesting to take a picture of. Whenever I tell Bob I’m taking a picture for you, he always tells me to tell you “Hello” and that he hopes you are doing well. He is such a gentleman.
Here are my daily pictures of flowers. Enjoy! I love love love you. Stay strong and healthy and laugh and sing and make art and dream lovely dreams of us drinking coffees and eating cookies together. Hopefully you can help me stitch up this broken heart soon since I miss you so much. Big hug and kiss!
Your #3 Daughter, —- Sally Ann
