22 July, 2020 - Doctor’s Visit & My First Cucumber!
Dear, Mom -
What a day! It was go go go go. I got up and fed the dog, took a shower, had a doctor’s appointment, took Birgit to her doctor’s appointment, sat in a car for 2 hours waiting for Birgit, came home, did some more appointment setting, read some instructions for a test, watered the lawn......wait, LOOK AT THIS!!!
I’m so EXCITED! The first cucumber I’ve grown on my own all of my own fruition!
Um, where was I? Played about an hour of a video game, took the dog out for a quick one, then ate a bowl of veggies from last night’s dinner, pet Elsa, brushed my teeth, and started your letter. I wasn’t out enough today to get you proper pictures, so it is slim pickings.
I had my virtual doctor’s visit today and the doctor is sending me some stretches to do for my back and leg. If that doesn’t improve my leg in the next two weeks, then we will do an MRI to see if the arthritis in my back has gotten worse and possibly affecting my back. I’m just glad it isn’t anything worse than that. Fingers crossed and all that.
When I was out watering, I sprayed the water on the railing and thought the drops looked interesting.

If I had one of those new iPhones with the awesome lens for pictures, the picture would be a lot more interesting, I suppose. I took a picture of some leaves with water on them the other day. I like the way the drops sit on the surface and change the color. It’s always better in person.
One of my favorite thing I used to take pictures of when I was doing photography regularly was the way that water would distort things in unique ways. I did a whole series for a photography class once. I had plastic animals with surroundings that were not correct ( for example, a penguin in the desert) reflected through a carafe of water, bending and distorting in odd ways. I have a couple of examples that I pulled off of my old Flickr account. It comes in handy occasionsally.

Tonight is definitely not a long writing night. Please accept my deepest apologies, Mom. I am just too tired to think of anything else clever to say or experiences to speak of. Sigh. I’m sorry I didn’t start earlier. I will make it up to you by talking to you today, though! Alright? I love you oodles and bunches. I can’t wait to talk to you. All my love, Your Daughter, Sally Ann❤️
