02 August, 2020 - Helping Out & Taking It Easy

Dear, Mom -

Hi! How is your day today? I can’t say I did a huge amount today, but I did spend a good share of the day helping out Birgit with some things around the house. She had a bad night with little sleep, so while she slept, I watered her outside garden in 20 minute increments, picked up some tarts from Paula’s shop for her, and did some weeding while I waited to change the water. Once she was up, I helped water the inside garden, too.

Early this morning, I got up and took Elsa the dog to the tall trees park so she could run around and chase squirrels. It’s best to get her out early while it is cool. I was really surprised at how little people there were at the park. Last Sunday there were quite a few more. It was a pleasant walk for us because she could run around without being on the leash. Like this:
When we got home, I started watering my own garden because I hadn’t been able to the day before. My tomatoes have lots of fruit and my cucumbers are starting to mature at a quick rate. Holly and I had a wonderful cucumber salad with roasted corn last night. I cut up one of my cucumbers and mixed it with some vinegar, sour cream, pinch of sugar and salt. I put in a wee bit of shredded carrot and some celery, too. It was fresh and delightful. With the heat, I don’t really have an appetite for meat. Chicken would be the exception. Pork just seems to heavy and I am quickly losing my appetite for it altogether (except Canadian bacon on pizza).

I have some paperwork to do tomorrow for my DHS job. I totally forgot to update my Criminal Background Check paperwork and may be getting it in a bit late. I’m supposed to have it in 70 days before it expires. With luck, I can still make it work, otherwise I may not get paid for a paycheck or two. Meh. This is how it is to work for the government. There is always a catch somewhere.

If I can get the motivation, tomorrow after my work is done, I will finish up the cards I have been drawing and doing mixed media on for my friend in Ontario, Oregon. I have turned into a terrible procrastinator. It doesn’t suit me, but that is what happens when your routine tends to have a severe shift (i.e., the last 6 months).

I will bid you good night, Mom. I need to actually get to bed at a decent hour for a change. I really need a solid schedule, but there just seems like there is too much to do. I promised you I would write one out, so I need to stand by it. I do need to make time for my leg, back, and neck stretches. Yoga would be the best route. I will do my best to try and write one up. Keeping alarms on my phone just isn't enough.

I love you and miss you. We will talk today at some time via the video chat. I am really looking forward to it. Have a lovely day until we speak✨❤️✨ Your Daughter, —-Sally Ann
