17 August, 2020 - What a Smile & Cookies This Time Next Week🤞🏽

Dear, Mom -

It was fantastic to talk to you today and watch you enjoy the last of the chocolate chip cookies. I promised you I would bake you more, so look forward to another batch next week! This time I will include peanut butter in the cookies, or put in peanut butter chips. If I remember right, the last time I made the chocolate chip cookies with peanut butter chips, they weren’t as satisfying. The peanut butter in the dough seems to come through much more than a peanut butter chip. My goodness. I will figure it out and just make a spectacular round of cookies! Why am I worrying? The world is better with cookies!

Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! Mmmmmmm!

Poem to My Mom about Cookies

From those days in my youth I look back upon,
You’re up baking, making treats, at the crack of dawn
Out comes Dad, half past six,
Coffee, toast, batter mix,
The first sheet of sweet’s in and the timers on.

Warm cookies smell perfect on a cold day,
Fills the room and your senses like the Sun’s rays,
Out they’d come to my plate,
Glass of milk, “Man, that’s great!”,
And I take two to go, kiss you bye, and I’m on my way :)

I’m sorry if I leave you with a short letter. That poem stumped me for a bit and I kind of got lost in it. Argh. I have to go to bed now. I am falling over with sleepy-ness. I don’t mean to do this to myself; staying up without having written earlier. I try to start early so I can write a good letter with lots of substance. Meh. Today it didn’t work out so good.

Regardless, I love you and miss you and will talk to you very soon...and at some point with cookies!!!
Your Lovely Daughter, —- Sal Ann
