08 October, 2020 - Waiting for New Glasses & Watson the Pup
Dear, Mom -
How has the day treated you today? It was pretty cloudy today and not too cold/not too warm. A Goldilocks kind of day, you could say. This morning I got up to walk Elsa before work. Birgit had some concerns about a half an hour before I needed to leave, so I helped her out a bit. I do her scheduling of appointments and help her out when someone calls. It is easier for her if I take care of her calendar for her. Then I write it on her physical calendar so she can just get up and look at that to see what the day holds. Now that Paula has a puppy, I am afraid she may not get the sleep she needs for a while because the puppy is still a baby and cries when Paula leaves for work. He sleeps next to her all night, so I think since he is so new to the family, he gets confused when he has to go from an all night cuddle in a big bed to a locked kennel until Birgit gets up. He will learn, but he’s such a young lad. A real sweetheart. Watson is him name.I worked with Bob today. He has been pretty tired in the mornings as of late, so I let him sleep in while I do chores around the house to help his son Philippe out. I do laundry (wash/dry/fold), sweep, mop, empty trash, clean the table and counter tops, take out the compost, etc. Usually I don’t do housework for clients, but Philippe is like a brother to me and I know it really helps him out. He is a teacher and is now having to teach from home. That’s pretty new for all teachers. Teaching from home instead of being in front of your class is a new challenge. Anything I can do to help Philippe is a goal of mine along with caring for his father Bob. Bob used to live in the same house as you and is a lovely man. You two were good friends, but then unfortunately you had to move to different places. He asks about you often and likes to know you are doing well.
After work, I had to run out to Beaverton to take my glasses to the eye doctor. I am getting the lenses replaced to be like my old pair. They will just be bifocals instead of progressives. My eyes just don’t adjust to progressives. There is a lot of reading I would like to do and without a proper pair of spectacles, it just isn’t’ working for me. So, in a couple of weeks, hopefully my new glasses will be better and I can get back to life as usual.
