22 Aril, 2020 - Greenery & Pianos
Dear, Mom-
Hi, Mom. I hope you are doing well. I need to buy you some more Belvita Biscuits for your snack supply. The peanut butter and chocolate sandwich ones are our favorites and I bet they are long gone. I'll try to order you some tomorrow.
Today, I took my client for a long drive in the country. We were both tired of being cooped up in the house and needed a change of scenery. We drove out west of Scappoose. I wish I could buy property that sits on the river off of the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway. The North Scappoose Creek weaves its way along with the road for quite a few miles. It is so green, lush, tall trees in small valleys, and rural. There are lots of pastures between houses and long side roads the go to somewhere. There are maintained trails you can walk to see water features and wildlife. It is the type of place I would like to retire to one day. I am sure you would like it, too. That nice, quiet, country feel. Not crowded, or fast. Little Mom and Pop stores along the main road. Nice neighbors a few acres away. Someday.
When I walked Elsa this afternoon, we came across an old, upright piano that had been in the driveway of a four-flex for some time. I was getting very weathered and looked very sad. It was like a piece of art waiting for the garbage truck. If only there'd been a way to save it or someone would have at least tried.
I'd like to write longer tonight, Mom, but I am very tired. It was a long day.
I am glad you are hearing from me on a regular basis now. That makes me feel better. The important thing, Mom, is that I want you to be happy when you hear my letters. Please don't be sad. Just think of all the silly things we will do together when I come back to see you! I love you very much and will write a more detailed letter tomorrow. Promise!
A Very Big Hug and Smooch,
Your Youngest Daughter,
Sal*
