24 April, 2020 - Coffee Drinks & All the Things
Dear, Mom -
Hi, Mom. How's your day going today? It was so special being able to talk to you again today! I can't get over seeing you smile and laugh. It makes me do the same 😄. It is nice to share stories with you like I am there. I may not have as much to type tonight because I may have told you everything today. It doesn't matter. I can always tell a story twice, the second time might just get embellished a bit. Ha ha.
Well, I did discover something interesting. It's a new coffee drink. It is super yummy and a good one for hot days. It is an iced coffee drink called a "Dalgona Coffee". It's kind of crazy, but here's what you do to make it. You take a couple of teaspoons of instant coffee, a couple teaspoons of sugar, some hot water and a little, electric hand mixer. Mix it all together until it turns into a whipped topping. Put some ice in a glass and fill 3/4 of the way with milk. Put the whipped topping on the top, nice and thick. Give it a little stir and 'viola'! It is so so so good. It's not the type of treat one should have every day, but YUM! I think I may make one again tomorrow. My first whip didn't fluff up as much as I would have liked it to. I'll report back as to how it goes!

I took a picture the other day when the sun was out through these marbles that weight down the stained glass blue jay sculpture that I got from Aunt Jo. It's pretty neat. The wind makes it look like it is flying. Anyway, you know me and a camera, I couldn't resist trying a picture with the sunlight coming through the marbles. It turned out kinda of neat. What do you think?
Well, tomorrow I need to get out the sewing machine an attempt to stitch up a few things and start recovering a couple of blankets. I also need to finish Sam's baby blanket that I started last year. He is the baby that my friend Aaron and his parter from Australia had two Novembers ago. At this rate, it's going to end up being a high school graduation gift. I just have never put ribbon around a blanket before. I'll figure it out. I will show you pictures once I get to work on it so you can give me your opinion.
I have some other things I need to get to, as well. I need to mow the lawn and do some (a lot of) weeding so when my wild flower starts start to, well, start, then I can plant them in a bed without weeds for neighbors. I need to begin so I can finish working on the deck around the art studio and get a small, hand ax and get to working on my spoons. So much to do. I am also going to make some Scandanavian Pine Bread if I can find a good recipe. I have all the projects lined up. Some fun and some not so much.
Okie dokes, Mom. I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!! BIG HUG AND BIG SMOOCHES!
I will talk to you on Monday. All my love,
Sal
