26 April, 2020 - Little Starts & A Big Day
Dear, Mom -
Good day, Mom. I'm writing very late at night. It's almost tomorrow! I did lots of work around the house today. I got up and mowed the front and back lawn and did some needed weeding in the back. I worked at that until Holly called me in for lunch. Tomorrow I have to get up and go to see my chiropractor again. My neck is really out of whack. I am not sure what it is I am doing to make my shoulders and neck to crackly, but I am hoping Dr. Scott can figure it out tomorrow. I don't think he has realized how bad it is in weeks past, but that is my fault for not letting him know. Regardless, he'll figure it out for me. I've been going to him for so many years now.
I was excited to see that I had starts in my little planters today. My Gazanias and assorted wildflowers had teeny tiny little sprouts coming up. I moved the containers to the front of the house in hopes that they will get more afternoon sun there. Now it is pouring rain and Holly thinks they may get drowned! I sure hope not, but at this late hour, I do not feel like running outside and moving them under cover! In this picture you can see my first little Gazania sprout.
I also made a trial run of peanut butter chocolate chip cookies tonight. I took a couple to Rob next door. He is a cookie guy and makes cookies all the time, too. He texted me and told me "You out did yourself with those cookies", which I take to mean he was a big fan of my cookies! I must admit, they went down the hatch pretty easy. Tomorrow I am going to make my first loaf of gluten-free bread because I don't want to pay $6 - $8 a loaf if I can make it at home. Paula next door gave me a huge bag of all-purpose gluten-free flour, so I need to start baking more with that. I am excited to see how my first loaf goes. I will take a picture of it when it is done. Hopefully, it will be a nice golden color and not look like a lump of coal :) Ha ha ha.
I'm sorry this entry is short, Mom. I need to get to bed. Seven thirty is going to come pretty early, so I best shut my lids and get to dreaming. I'll look for you there. Maybe tonight we can go to Hawaii in our dreams. We can sit on the warm beach and drink margaritas together. We can do crossword puzzles and listen to The Statler Brothers and Marty Robbins on the radio. All the good ole honky tonk and classic country.
I love you very much, Mom. Hopefully, we can talk today! That is always a nice way to brighten up a rainy day.
Talk to you soon. Here is a picture of Elsa dog smelling some beautiful poppies and also a picture of some pretty, little blue flowers:
Have a wonderful day, Mom. Much Love - Sal
