23 August, 2020 - Much Ado About Nothin' & COOKIES!
Dear, Mom -
Hello! If all goes according to plan, I will come see you this afternoon! That is the fantastic news I have to share with you today :) The second part of the fantastic news is...*duhn duhn duhn dunnnnn*...COOKIES!
Here are your cookies. I tried one to make sure they were delicious. Thumbs Up!!!
My faithful kitchen companion, Elsa the dog, cracked the eggs and stirred the batter. I have to watch her carefully as she has a tendency to lick the bowl before the batter has been spooned onto the cookie sheet for baking. She has a keen sense of smell and can tell when the cookies have all the right ingredients and when they are ready to come out of the oven. She works cheap. She just asks for a few crumbs and all is well.
This is her "the cookies are perfect" face! Well done, sou chef!
Unfortunately, I didn't make any banana bread today. It was warm enough today that I just made the cookies and decided to make the banana bread tomorrow. I still may be able to bring you some since I am coming later in the day. I will try my best.
I got up this morning and took Elsa the dog for a long walk. We got out before the heat of the day and at our mid-way point, we happened upon the park water fountain where there is a bowl at the bottom for dogs to drink out of. Elsa drank a lot of water then we continued on our way back home. She was pretty hot when we got back, but happy to have had a nice walk. I will probably take her with me in the morning to get an oil change and walk her around that neighborhood for something different for her and me. She will enjoy the new smells, I'm sure. The oil change store is in a nice neighborhood by where I used to work. We can find lots of places to explore while the car is being worked on. It is also across the street from a food cart area, so if I haven't had my morning smoothie, I may get one from there. Although, I may need to budget that in because they are a bit spendy. I don't blame them for charging as much as they do because it is a bit time consuming and messy.
Anyway, I will say good day to you for now and look forward to talking to you later. I will leave you with a few pictures that I took of some of the flowers left around the neighborhood. There are even a few varieties I have not seen before.
I love and miss you very much! Big HUGS and KISSES! All My Love, --- Sally Annπ
