24 August, 2020 - What a Gift to See YOU! & Feeling Better Now
Dear, Mom -
It was SO nice to see you today!!! I saw you smile and laugh. I saw you enjoy the cookies I made you. I heard your voice and had such a nice chat with you! It really makes me feel so much better to be close to you and see how you are and see that you are happy. I hope you enjoyed our visit. You will have enough cookies to last you for a while, which also makes me chuckle. I wish I could make enough for everyone, but that is a pretty big order.
I don't have much to report tonight as I just came home after seeing you and only did a couple of things. One was I watered the back garden. I have so many cherry tomatoes right now it is hard to keep up with them. I have really taken a shine to them. Usually I am not a fan of tomatoes, but these cherry tomatoes are so sweet and great in a burrito or quesadilla that I really like them. I threw together a moroccan flavored tofu, cherry tomato, cheese, sour cream, and potato wrap for dinner and it was delicious. For breakfast (brunch really) I had a butter lettuce salad with cherry tomatoes, black olives, chick peas, white cheddar cheese shavings, and a nice creamy Caesar salad dressing. Not something I would typically eat for breakfast, but we were out of a lot of stuff and didn't get a grocery delivery until later on in the day. So, after watering the garden I wrote up an invoice, showered, and got ready to come see you. I did get an oil change earlier in the morning, hence my late breakfast.
I guess this will just be a short letter tonight/today. I think you and I talked about most of the stuff that went on and most of it was not exciting. Typical run of the mill stuff :)
Unfortunately, I didn't even get many pictures today. Holly just called me out into the living room to look at how pretty the moon was coming through the window. It was interesting because it is just a cresent, but it had a reflection that showed 5 moons in total. At first, I thought it was because of my glasses, but she said she could see it, too. I ran back to grab my phone to see if I could take a picture to show you, but it is one of those anomalies that can't be photographed by a phone camera. At least I could describe it to you!
