25 August, 2020 - Carving & A Wee Bit on the Tired Side

 Dear, Mom -

Well, it’s just another day, I suppose. Again, not much happened today. I worked with Bob, got my car washed, and came home. I told Bob I saw you and he asked about how you were doing. He really wishes he could come visit you. He is really fond of you. Some day in the future we will come to see you. Promise.

I was thinking about starting to carve spoons again. I really need to get on it and make one for Kim. Her 50th birthday is on the 8th of September and I really want to have one done for her. I need to invest in a vice in order to do it, though. I cannot carve the spoon properly while holding it with my other hand. I don’t have enough grip. I need to start this week and carve well through the weekend to shape it and sand it down. After that, I will woodburn a design in the wood. I think I might do a camping them. Some pine trees with a little tent and fire? A river and a canoe? A reverse burn so the positive space is the picture? (I would burn out the sky and leave an outline of trees and of the moon. Yes. That may be a good place to start. I better just get started on the spoon first off...

These are laser cuts. I would do mine free hand. These are cute, though.

I need to go to bed, Mom. I am sorry to cut this so short. I really want to write something fun and interesting, but this is one of those nights where my neck and back are sore, I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open, and I just don’t have much to say outside of what I already typed. Booooo. I wanted to tell you something amazing! Tomorrow, I hope!

I love and miss you oodles! I will hug you soon in person. When I do, it may be a World Record Hug because I won’t want to let go for a loooooooong time :)
Have a great day, Mom. Love Daughter #3, —-Sally❤️
