31 August, 2020 - My Day & New Glasses🤓

 Dear, Mom -

I am sorry that we weren’t able to talk today on the video chat. I actually was able to get in for an eye appointment so I could replace my glasses that broke. I’m really glad I have vision insurance through my county job. I came in really handy. I still had to put some money on my credit card, but it had a $0 balance, so it will be easy enough to pay off over the next six months. The worst part of the visit was that the optometrist dilated my eyes, did my exam, then had me pick out frames. I couldn’t really see them because my eyes were so blurry, but he helped and I think I picked out some nice ones. Even now, four hours later and my eyes are still a bit blurry. If I have a bunch of typing errors, I blame it on my eyes!

I did get some things done today that I had on my list. The main being the eye appointment. I returned the reading glasses I bought to the store and got my money back. I ran by the store to get my anxiety medication. I also talked to Kim over video chat to catch up with her and see how returning to work has been. It is also her husband Ward’s birthday today, so I wished him a happy birthday. That was about it for my day.

Earlier in the morning, I took Elsa for a long walk down to the park under the St. Johns Bridge. She likes to go down there and chase the squirrels and smell the smells. I actually let her walk in the river a bit. It made her so happy to run back and forth in the water. I really wish the river was cleaner so she could swim in it. Being that is flows right through the city and near all the big industries, I don’t dare let her swim. Who knows what kind of things she may ingest or absorb through her skin. Yuck.

I had to pick most of the cherry tomatoes left on the bushes. I mean, there are still more coming, but I didn’t want the ones out there to go to waste, so I gave them to the neighbor. Those are the tomatoes I grew and was eating then discovered they weren’t good for my muscles. It’s too bad because I was actually enjoying tomatoes for the first time in my life. Oh, well. There are other things to enjoy, like the cucumbers :).

Alright, Mom. As I always say, “I love you and I miss you!”. I mean it more and more each time I say it. I will try my darndest to see you next Monday. I’m not sure if I will be able to bring cookies, but I may have some leftover cake from Kim’s 50th birthday to bring you instead. You can never go wrong with cake!

😚🍁🐰I’ll talk to you very soon... All My Love and Heart to You, Your Daughter, Sally Ann🦊🍄😘
