25 October, 2020 - Helping Out & COLD
Dear, Mom -
Brrrrr. It got cold quick. We want to turn on the heat, but that means we need to go down and put a new filter in the heater and that is not at all appealing. It also involves a lot of work getting all the Goodwill bags and boxes off the cellar door. This is a task I plan to tackle tomorrow. When the virus struck and I had a bit more time to get stuff done, I started weeding stuff out to take to the Goodwill and then it shut so we couldn’t go. All the accumulation of that stuff is in the mud room and it needs to get out of here to clear clutter and make room. And when I say room, I mean a cleared space, not a place to put more stuff (unless it will be donated as well).
I am also going to rearrange my bedroom again so my head is not against the window. With the colder weather coming, the last thing I need is for my head to be right where the cold air can leak in and give me a chill. I’m usually fairly tucked under my blankets, but I still don’t need to be cold if I don’t have to be. You and I don’t like being cold and that will never change.
I stuck around home for the most part today. Paula left for a short vacation down to Palm Springs. Apparently, it is 85 degrees and she is sitting in a tank top and shorts by the pool. Doesn’t that sound nice. Maybe a dip in the hot tub. That’s what I did like. I keep talking about buying one of the blow up hot tubs that my neighbor had. She said it was the best $300 she ever spent. I’m thinking it sounds like a fantastic idea, especially now that the cold months are upon us. And it runs off of a basic outlet! I should have bought one last year when they weren’t’ so popular though. It looks like they have gone up about $300 since I last priced them. This is what it looks like:
